Dynamic Vocal Phrasing and Guitar Technique
Masterfully Complement a Wide-Ranging Musical Repertoire
By Sarah Nader
peterlambertmusic news
SAN JOSE - Peter Lambert, originally of
Buffalo, New York, has been singing and
accompanying himself and others with his
extraordinary guitar, rock-solid bass guitar,
and piano/keyboard styles, for over 35
years.
He has performed as a solo artist on
acoustic & electric guitars and piano,
delivering a diversified and delightful
mélange of tunes made popular in current
and past decades, chosen from among
Pop/Rock, Easy Listening, R&B / Hip-Hop,
Latin, Jazz, Reggae, New (& Old) Country,
'Standards', Traditional Folk, and other
genres.
His wide vocal range allows him to be
soulfully comfortable in a gutsy blues/rock
vein as well as on tender ballads and
material often associated with female
artists: He is equally at home performing
songs done by George Benson, Nat King
Cole, Ray Charles, The Beatles, Joni
Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Led
Zeppelin, Elton John, Alanis Morissette,
Rob Thomas, Norah Jones & others, and
the dynamic and hard-driving guitar
playing, featured on his signature ‘foot-
tapping & dance worthy’ versions of
popular songs, is truly his own. He’s also
composed more than a few catchy or
provocative gems that shine here and there
in a performance set.
Performing in venues across North
America as a member of one or another
musical duo or group in Pop, Rock,
Country, R&B/Funk and Vocal-Jazz niches,
he has also garnered recognition and kudos
from club & concert patrons and from
peers, whether as a vocal & guitar soloist
fronting a two-, three-, or eighteen-piece
dance band, expertly blending in on intricate
four part vocal harmonies, tastefully
backing other soloists, or playfully leading
the audience in a sing-along! Over the
years, he’s shared the stage with some of
the best in the business, including: Paul
Booth, Joe Crnko, Virgil Day, Paul Delong,
Johnny Johnson, Louise Lambert, Alex
Lane, Curtis Lee, Bob Nowak, Duane &
Mark Rosier, Denny Sacco, and Steve
Worley.
